Some procrastination and a little nostalgia

It has been such a long time since I've written anything on here, and even longer since I actually wrote here with any regularity. It seems crazy, but considering everything that is going on, I guess I'm not really surprised. Also...I don't even know why I write anything here; I'm pretty sure no one reads it. And maybe that's ok. Whatever.Today started the rapid descent to through the rest of the semester. It is already pretty scary that we're in April so quickly, but especially since we only have four more weeks of actual classes left. In other words...17 days of class left before finals. Eeek!
I'm starting to realize that I am going to have to make up for the fact that I really didn't have anything of great consequence due in the first two-thirds of the semester. This week begins the work on my course/major project for Keegan's lame 202 class. I also am in the midst of working on a creative project and a final paper for Ladino's Native American Lit class. There's also a paper due in Theology in two weeks. Oh yea, and I haven't even started to think about what I'm going to do for Dornsife's final project...something I might want to give a few minutes thought to since I need to do well on it especially given my grade on the midterm project.
All of these major assignments come at a very inopportune time in regards to rowing. We are about halfway through our season, with all of our biggest regattas coming up. The schedule for the rest of the semester:
This week:
Practice today-Friday (yes, that's right, practice on Good Friday at a Catholic school)
Saturday and Monday off for Easter Break
April 14: Duel vs. Alabama at Carter Lake, then 6 hour lake clean up
April 15: Upper Midwest Collegiate Sprints at Carter Lake
April 21: Great Plains Rowing Championships in Topeka, KS
April 27-28: Midwest Intercollegiate Rowing Championships in Oklahoma City, OK
Finals week: Practice Monday-Saturday
Week of May 7th:
Practice Monday-Wednesday
May 9: Leave for Philly
May 11-12: Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, PA
Honestly, I'm not ready for the rest of the semester. I have huge doubts about whether or not I will be able to get everything done well in time. All I can hope is that everything will work out eventually. I've just gotta keep going day by day. Not the best strategy in the world, and not something I'm really used to, but there's no way I can get ahead since I'm not even caught up for what's going on tomorrow.
I'm excited for this summer even though there are so many questions about what will happen. Since Matt Bailed (the pro at Pinehurst) was asked to leave early last month and, as far as I know, there still has not been a replacement hired, I have no idea if I will be working there yet. I really hope the board gets smart and just promotes Bob to head pro and Ben to assistant pro because that would be the ideal situation that would probably get me a spot in the pro shop this summer. I guess I can't really start thinking about that yet since there's so much up in the air. Blegh.
Focus. On. The. Present.
That's about it. That, and I'm keeping my hopes up for the successful adoption of Buster, a 9 month old lab/retriever/beagle mix.
Time for bed. Early practice. Lots of work to do still.
